I definitely don't have time for your jokes, Missy!

Rory: I can't finish all this and sleep at the same time.
Lorelai: You have to sleep. It's what keeps you pretty.
Rory: Who cares if I'm pretty if I fail my finals?
Lorelai: Oh-kay. You've got this completely backwards.

FINALS!!!

they're here.

and I don't want to study.

What's my reward for studying?

Going home in 5 days!!!! (and hopefully some good grades, too.)

Luke: I thought maybe I'd get you two back together

Lorelai: Thanks for reconciling us.

What was I reconciled with this weekend, you may ask? Ice Skating. Really, any form of skating. As you'll remember, I went roller skating last year and it was HORRIBLE!! I was just not cut out for gliding rather than walking on hard surfaces. It was the same thing when I went to an ice skating rink for a big stake activity and I spent the whole thing clinging to the wall. Wretched. Well, this weekend, Lauren invited me to go with her roommates up to Park City, and I gladly said yes (who wouldn't?) so we went up Saturday night and stopped at an outdoor skating rink. I really, really, REALLY didn't want to skate; I knew it would be traumatic. But one of Lauren's roommates, Kami, was determined to make me skate...she even plotted with Brooke to get me skates behind my back! So, I went out. I went a lap holding on to the wall. Then Brooke held my hands while I kept my legs stick straight and guided me across the middle. Then Kami made me skate to her with Lauren next to me, ready to catch my fall (of course she did that tricky thing where you keep moving farther away as I get closer!) Finally I got to the point where I could skate all by myself!! Now, don't take me wrong, I'm not heading for the olympics anytime soon and I look anything but graceful (in fact, one of the dad's on the outside of the rink continued to laugh at me every time I passed him) but I have greatly improved! Hopefully my skills stay in tact if ever I go ice skating again...anyway, that was way fun! Then we went to Dairy Keen (that's right) for dinner and then to Kami's family's condo. We just hung out that night, watching Harry Potter and then we were all SO tired that, as soon as we all got in our beds, we started talking to each other all the way across the house. Logical, right? We also went to a visitors ward for sacrament meeting that probably had 20 people...and it was testimony meeting. haha. It was very fun though. I also got to have my last roast Sunday with Amy (sad) and I had my final class of art. It was very fun; we all just presented our final projects and talked about how much we'd progressed. As soon as I get it back, I'll post pictures of all my projects. Also, on Friday night I hung out with Lauren, Brooke, and Kami and we watched Time Traveler's Wife and Letters to Juliet (college students are so productive!! haha). All in all, a very fun weekend...now it's time to get down to the studying!
*only picture...haha sorry*

We are not Michelle Kwan-ing this!

Rorey: We might want to consider not eating much now in preparation for our finest hour; a little fasting so we can enjoy more tomorrow, hmm?
Lorelai: ...Unnecessary.
Rorey: Yea.
-A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving

Well, mine may not have been deep-fried or Korean, but it was still a GREAT Thanksgiving break! I got home on Monday night right before a HUGE storm hit Boise (thank goodness I left when I did!) And got to hang out with Paul and RaeAnn and wake Jenna up...accidentally...before going to RaeAnn's friend's house to start house/dogsitting for the week. On Tuesday I did more playing with the Arnesen's, Harry Potter (EPIC!!) lunch and Borders with Shelby, and dinner with RaeAnn and Paul while we watched Bandits. On Wednesday I donated plasma (oh how I missed it!) I also got to enjoy the great TV and movie selection available at the house I was staying at (too bad this enjoyment was at the cost of cleaning up a lot of doggie do-do). On Thursday Dad and I went out to my cousin Mattie's house for Thanksgiving dinner. It was very fun to see Mattie and her kids and Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Rodney (Aunt Cheryl makes the absolute BEST pumpkin pie!!). I also watched a little bit of a football game with Dad (since it was Thanksgiving and all). On Friday I got to donate again and then Dad and I went to see The Last 3 Days with Russel Crowe...it was SO good!! I was very impressed! And Dad said it was good enough to buy, so you know he loved it :) I must admit, though, as we waited 20 minutes for the movie to start (we got there kind of early) I was very tempted to go into the Harry Potter showing in the other theater, but I didn't think Dad would approve, so...Anyway, I then did all my Christmas shopping on Saturday and rewarded myself with John Tucker Must Die (apparently, a lot of movie watching happened last week). On Sunday I woke up early to go to an early ward with the Chamberlains (who were giving me a ride home) but the roads were pretty bad, so we had to stay an extra day...I wasn't complaining. We did leave on Monday, though, and it took an extra 3 1/2 hours to make the trip, but we got back in one piece, so I guess that's what's important.
Well...only 16 days until Christmas break begins!! (now I just need to find a road home...)

"One night in the hallway does not a true naked guy make"

I disagree, Richard. You see, I finally went to my very first BYU sports event since becoming a student. It was a basketball game. Against Utah State. We won....I must say that the last 5 minutes were by far the most entertaining. Especially since that is when Lauren and I noticed the very enthusiastic BYU fan who would say "This is an outrage!" whenever anything bad happened to BYU and would do some sweet dance moves whenever things were going our way.
I think I've officially been introduced to BYU sports.

"Lose the swan, Mom."

For FHE this week we did family pictures!! It took me a while to get everyone organized according to shirt color, but I think they turned out super cute (and I didn't make them do any outlandish poses).

“Is it the one where they poke people’s organs to solve crimes?”

“No, it’s the one where they dig up people’s bodies and poke their organs to solve crimes.” –Lorelia and Sookie

I have a new show that I LOOOOOVEEE! It’s called Bones…

bones

It is so great!! I just finished watching the first 5 seasons and that was no waste of time! Tempurence Brennan (aka “Bones”) is a forensic anthropologist who helps Special Agent Seeley Booth solve murders where all they have of the bodies are the bones. It is way great and also super funny. I would definitely recommend it!

So…you speak French at all?

Rory:” Just a tiny, little bit”.…Lorelia: “Even less. Uh, ‘voulez vous coucher avec moi ce seir?’ That’s about it."

moulin rouge

So, this weekend I hung out with my friend, Lauren, and her friend Breanna. First off, I LOVED her friends apartment; it’s perfect and I want to live there next year. Next, we made funfetti brownies with orange, Halloween funfetti frosting (try saying that 10 times fast). And then we watched Moulin Rouge, which both Lauren and I had never seen. I really, really loved it!! I can’t quit put my finger on why it was so great, but it was. I loved the music (which is why the playlist for the week is all from the soundtrack), I loved the story, I loved the characters. I loved it. And now I, like Lorelia, can say that I know a teeny tiny bit of French! :)

Did you know they don’t drink alcohol?

yea, they famously abstain –Toby and Lorelai (on Mormons)

Well, this weekend I got to watch all of conference with my big brother, Danny (I can’t remember the last time that happened!) I went out to Tooele late Friday night and got to stay until Sunday night. It was a great weekend and a nice little get-away. What did we do other than watch Conference? Well…

Danny pimped out my laptop with the first season of Lost, Harry Potter Movies 1-5, Batman Begins, and The Bourne Trilogy.

I got to run on their awesome hill!! It was fantastic.

I painted all the girl’s nails (while Charlie and Adrian watched, probably wishing they could get a mani-pedi themselves).

Got to get some great and comfy shoes with Sarah for my new job ($54 shoes for $20!!!)

I ate a lot of great food!! (Steaks, BBQ chicken, homemade apple pie, yummy pumpkin cookies, crepes, and pancakes).

And, finally, I dyed my hair…

…BLACK!!!

Thanks for a great weekend Blodgett Fam! :)

“I’ve never had a name tag before…

I won’t lose it, I swear!“ –Rory (after she gets her first internship)

Well, I started my first college job this weekend! That’s right; I’m a grown up. I am still kind of sad because I really thought I was going to get this awesome job as an editor for BYU Independent Study, but I didn’t…but that’s okay because I did get a job (which was the main goal of the year)

I am now an official employee of BYU Catering. That’s right; sounds prestigious. I worked on Saturday for the football game in the Legacy Tent (sounds snazzy, right?) Pretty much, there’s this HUGE tent next to the stadium that we decorated in BYU blue and white where alumni and “contributors” to the team can come before the game and we serve them a buffet of yummy food (I was in charge of salads). Then, they go out to the stadium for kick off while we clean out all the food set up for lunch and replace it with popcorn, hotdogs, burgers, and other yummy, football related treats (I got to leave after this set up). They eat this stuff at half time, leave again and then we set up stuff for a big dinner buffet. Those alumni (alumnus? alumnae?) eat well on game days. (I know—I got to eat left overs).

Sadly, BYU lost to Nevada on Saturday…up side? I made money!!

“Do something to make me hate you!”

“Umm…go Hitler?” –Gilmore Girls

Well, this weekend, Melissa was the nicest roommate and took me all over the world…well, to American Fork, but still. On Saturday, we went to Flour Girls & Dough Boys (a very cute bakery where Jamison works) where we had some yummy sandwiches (mine was a Pecan Apple Brie Panini. YUM) and then we went to visit Grandma for a while. It was really great because all the aunts and uncles were there, so we got to enjoy some time together (I hope I wasn’t intruding on “sib time”). It was also good to see Grandma. Then, after we left, Melissa said, “do you want to shop?” so we went to Target so she could get a cute cardigan and I could get some shoes and slacks for my *hopefully* new job. (side note: I sadly didn’t get that editing job I was really excited about, but will hopefully be getting the okay to start work for BYU catering any day now). Then, on our way back to Provo, Melissa pulled over at McDonald’s so we could get ice cream cones

(taking pictures while driving: always.)

She also got some bubblicious bubble gum, so…

RaeAnn, I was gonna print this picture out for you to put in Jenna’s room (with the whole dandelion theme), but then I thought, we know how my gifts are usually treated, so…

Anyway, it was a good Saturday. Then, on Sunday, we got to hear Elder Holland and President Packard speak and today we got to hear Elder Hales. At this rate, I think I might be able to hear all the apostles speak in real life!

Wedding Numero Dos

Warning: Many pictures to follow

This weekend I got to fly out to Arizona to be in one of my best friend’s wedding (Emily Scorse). It was a very fun weekend and I was so, so, so glad that I got to be there for the celebration!

I got there Thursday night just in time for the Bachelorette Party at Olive Garden…

On Friday, we got up early and went to the temple to wait while Sam and Emily got sealed, and then we took some pictures…

The reception was great fun, though it was record breaking hot outside. After the reception, Madisen and Kelsey picked me up and I spent the night in Mesa.

On Saturday, I got to have some hang out time with Madi and then Aunt Mae and I went out to lunch where I got the yummiest calzone EVER. Then I got to see Colten and take him to a swim party that Brooke was having at her fiancé's house.

On Sunday I went to good old Manistee Ranch with Aunt Mae. I sat with the Scorse family in Emily’s spot, which was kind of sad and made me miss her (though she did text me on the way to her honeymoon in San Diego to ask how I liked one of Sam’s groomsmen. haha). I got to see my friend Colter, who just got home from his mission, and then Aunt Mae made a delicious roast and I hit the “streets (or more accurately, skies) that keep me away from Glendale,” as The Format would say, (one of mine, Emily, and Brooke’s favorite bands).

P.S. School update to come…probably next week :)

You guys don’t think recycling is exciting? okay….

I know, my nieces are super cute/funny. That’s definitely what Rebecca exclaimed in frustration while her, Sheri, and Ruth were playing Apples to Apples. We all laughed VERY hard.

The long-awaited Dave Blodgett reunion took place this last weekend, and oh what fun we had! Of course, I did forget to take ANY pictures….but you know me. So I guess I’ll just give you the highlights and you can imagine them however you would like…(plus, most people that read my blog are related to me, so…)

We arrive on Thursday to the Harpers beautiful River house with the most beautiful view. It was so exciting to see all of the brothers and sisters again! It’s been a long time since we were all together and so it was great that everyone made it. Also, funny that Craig, Rebekah, and Brett didn’t even recognize me with my newly dark hair. We played Minute to Win It games that night (courtesy of Paul and Rae) and it was pretty funny watching most of the games but especially watching my dad unrolling two rolls of toilet paper off of a broomstick.

Friday, I wake up at 6:55 to prepare bagels for all the golfers in the family—it really took me back to my blue sky days of cutting bagel orders of 30+ bagels. Shout out to Stacie for supplying the bagels; thank you for feeding my family! Funny comments by the kids begins now: so Judy Gail woke up and was talking to me, RaeAnn and Jenna as Jenna is crawling around. All of a sudden, JG says, “I hope you’re ticklish!” and begins to tickle Jenna on her arms. so cute! Once the boys got back from golfing, we started taking runs on the boats and jet skis (Brett was the master of the Jet skis—he rode one pretty much all day and took out all the nieces and nephews that wanted to go). I can honestly say I impressed my brothers with my wakeboarding skillz (yes, with a Z because that makes it  more serious, and more gangster), because I even impressed myself!! :) I can cross the wake on my heel edge and come back in! I know, I am pretty a-w-e-s-o-m-e. haha. Then my brothers all tried out surfing…Craig lost the board under the boat. It was hilarious. We also had a baby shower for Rebekah and we got her a cake (actually, Craig picked it up so not much of a surprise) and when we gave Judy Gail a piece, she ate off all the frosting and said, “Can I have more cake? Except I don’t like this bread part (pointing to the chocolate insides of the frosting).”

That night we had the long-awaited talent show—the Dan Blodgett’s brought us some well-performed Primary Songs; the Ben Blodgett’s sang Heart of Gold by Neil Young, with Ben on guitar AND harmonica; the Craig Blodgett’s will have a talented baby boy (named Cy probably); the Arnesen’s brought us a little Rihanna and Shy Ronnie (see SNL for details); and the Harper’s made a music video for Lady Antebellum (which you can view on Ashley’s blog). The siblings stayed up late that night reminiscing about Montana days, which was very fun and entertaining.

On Saturday we took some great family pictures, which I actually CAN share with you…here are some of my faves:

DSCF6731

DSCF6789

I feel like this post is getting very long, so I will now start to shorten a little….so, that day contained more boating and jet skiing and that night I played some Skip-Bo with the sibs while Sheri, Rebecca, and Ruth (who had become quit the trio at this point, which I’m going to blame on RaeAnn since she played Truth or Dare with them, which we all know is a bonding experience) played Apples to Apples, which led to them asking one of us to choose what was more funny (Robert Downey, Jr. or Wimbledon), talented (Michael Jackson or a dentist), or naive (mostly they just wanted to know what that word meant…haha).

On Sunday, Dad gave us a really great devotional before we all had to say our goodbyes. It was a very fun and entertaining weekend (I’m sad I can’t think of more of the hilarious things the kids said). Thanks to Ashley and Nolan for all their planning!! They did an awesome job.

It strikes again…

So, I was looking on ModCloth today, just for the “fun” of it, and I found this beauty on SALE….

Oh it’s so cute!! It even has POCKETS!! But, I cannot, will not, purchase another thing online….

I must be strong!

Blast from the Past

So, Paul informed me that it was about time for me to post again…the reason I have taken such a hiatus from the blogging world is simply this: I have nothing to blog about! My life pretty much consists of running, cleaning, cooking, and babysitting. I’m not complaining because I do enjoy being home and partaking in these tasks and watching baby Jenna, I’m just saying, it’s not the stuff that makes the most exciting blog posts…am I right?

Well, I finally did something out of the norm (sort of) so I guess I’ll post it even though it may be only exciting to me. For the last 2 weeks, I was house sitting for a friend of RaeAnn’s. Her and her husband were going to…Tokyo (?? I think) and they needed someone to watch their dog, Simon. That’s not the exciting part. The exciting part is that while I was watching Simon, I also got to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer…the show of my childhood. That and Charmed really take me back…but it’s been forever since I got to watch some Buffy and I made it through 6 seasons (I know…kind of sad) and re-remembered why I loved it so much. That show is so funny. And I am still in love with Angel (my first TV crush)…oh those good vampires really get to me…Anyway, I thought I’d share some favorite quotes I rediscovered… *warning: this is gonna be long, so you can really just skim it. I guess it’s more for me than for my readers :)

Season 1:

Buffy: Well, when you've been around since Columbus, you're bound to pile up a few ex's. You're older than him, right? Just between us girls, you are looking a little worn around the eyes

Willow: So he is a good vampire! I mean, on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being someone who's killing and maiming every night, and 1 being someone who's...not.

Season 2:

Buffy: What kind of girl travels with a mummified corpse? And doesn't even pack a lipstick?

Willow: Well, I like you. You're nice, and you're funny, and you don't smoke. Yeah, okay, werewolf, but...that's not all the time. I mean, three days out of the month, I'm not much fun to be around either

Buffy: So I'm treated like the baddie, just because he has a sprained wrist and a bloody nose...and I don't have a scratch on me. Which, granted, hurts my case a little, on the surface…

Xander: I'm sorry, but let's not forget that I hated Angel long before you guys jumped on the bandwagon. So I think I deserve a little something for not saying 'I told you so' long before now. And if Giles wants to go after the fiend that murdered his girlfriend, I say, 'Faster, pussycat, kill, kill.

Spike: Now, I know you haven't been in the game for a while, mate, but we do still kill people. Sort of our raison d'etre, you know.

Mrs. Summers: Have we met before? Spike: You hit me with an ax one time. Remember? Uh, 'Get the heck away from my daughter!’

Angel: Hello, lover.

Oz: But we know the world didn't end, 'cause... check it out.

Season 3:

Buffy: Yeah, I'm also a person. You can't just define me by my Slayerness. That's... something-ism

Buffy: You know nothing's really going to change. The important thing is that I kept up my special birthday tradition of gut-wrenching misery and horror.

Willow: That's me as a vampire? I'm so evil, and skanky. And I think I'm kind of gay

Season 4:

Buffy: And the thing is, I like my evil like I like my men - evil. You know, straight up, black hat, tied to the train tracks, 'soon my electro-ray will destroy Metropolis' bad"

Buffy: Oz, you okay? If it's possible, you seem more monosyllabic than usual

Buffy: Giles! I accidentally killed Spike! That's okay, right?

Buffy: Honey, we need to talk about the invitations. Now, do you want to be "William the Bloody" or just "Spike"? 'Cause either way, it's gonna look majorly weird

Buffy: She irons her jeans…she’s EVIL!

Xander: Whoa, Giles has a TV. Everybody, Giles has a TV! He's shallow like us

Spike: And I'm just supposed to help you out of the evilness of my heart?

Spike: What's this? Sitting around watching the telly while there's evil still afoot? It's not very industrious of you. I say, we go out there, and kick a little demon bum...Vampires! Grrr! Nasty. Let's annihilate them. For justice, and for the safety of puppies, and Christmas, right? Let's fight that evil. Let's kill something. Oh, come on!

Season 5:

Glory: Did someone order an apocalypse?

Anya: Oh, that's very humorous. Make fun of the ex-demon. I can just hear you in private: 'I dislike that Anya. She's newly human and strangely literal

Season 6:

Spike: Oh, listen to Mary Poppins. He's got his crust all stiff and upper with that nancy-boy accent. You Englishmen are always so... Bloody! [Ticks off on his fingers] Sodding, blimey, shagging, knickers, bollocks, oh gosh! I'm English!

Online Shopping

So, I’ve recently been suffering from a mild case of online shopaholic…Shall I tell you of my brilliant deals and purchases???

Well, for my friend, Mary's, wedding, all of the girls were supposed to wear purple shoes, and I couldn’t find ANY cute ones in the stores, so I went online. I was a little apprehensive, seeing as I’ve never been much of an online shopper for fear I won’t get what I bargained for, but I found gorgeous heels on endless.com for $25 and FREE SHIPPING!! Perfect, right?

CIMG1249

(My cute shoes belong to the bruised shin)

Then, I had a TON of pictures from my last semester at school that I needed to print out, so Ashley told me about shutterfly…I got 62 pictures for $7 (including s&h). Deal!

shutterfly

So then, I got a nice email from Borders with coupons and many great books, and then I saw it…the deal that made me want to cry it was so good. Pre-order Mockingjay by Suzanne Colins for 53% off and Linger by Maggie Stiefvater for 50% off!! Two books that I am dying to read and can’t wait til they come out, both for killer deals. I bought two hardback books for the price of one! SCORE!

mockingjay linger

But, alas, no addiction can remain perfect…somewhere you will get bit (and not just by the fact that I still don’t have a job, therefore not really any disposable income…) and my bite came in the form of  a cell phone cover. I just got a new phone and while I was at the Verizon store, they tried to talk me into buying this hot pink cell phone cover that I actually loved because it was thin and cute and didn’t make my phone look all bulky, but it was $20 so I said, “Sorry, but that’s almost a full plasma donation…I just can’t afford it…” and then went home, got on Amazon.com and found it there for $3. Or so I thought….it arrived yesterday and it’s not really at all what I thought and now I can’t decide if I like it or not….why have you let me down online shopping? Why!?!?!?!!?

My Neutron Star

Well, Muse has come out with a new song…”Neutron Star.” And I love it. And, as I listened to this song, I realized that I should probably share my new love with the world (at least the blogging world). That’s right, I’ve fallen in love. It took us a very long time to get here…you see, my new love is running….

Running and I have had a very complicated relationship. You see, I never liked running very much. People kept trying to introduce us, but I would do everything I could to avoid running. I thought I could never be good with running; that people would see us together and laugh because I have no form or whatever. While it may still be true that I’m not a great runner, I have decided I don’t care what people think, because running and I are happy together. Deal with it.

19…and it feels so good!

What a birthday I had!! I was lucky enough to have both my sisters, their families, dad, and Tammy with me for the weekend. RaeAnn was, once again, very kind in making my birthday special even though the day is also her anniversary. I was very spoiled this year…

1. New Hair: RaeAnn bought my haircut for me (which I desperately needed since my last hair cut was at Thanksgiving) and she also gave me a coupon for hair dye, which Ashley helped me apply to the hair…

dark hair dye

2. New Moon…I needed it, what more can I say???

CIMG1264

3. Clothes: A VERY cute orange shirt from Ashley. I love it; it’s so soft!!

CIMG1270

4. Swimsuit: from Downeast…I don’t know if you’ve been checking out their swimsuits but they have some very cute ones

CIMG1272

5. Books: 5 of them that I’ve been wanting for a while

CIMG1273

6. Ticket: Let’s not forget the plane ticket that I used last week so that I could go see one of my best friends get married!!

So, you see what I mean? I was very spoiled. And all I had to do was be born to get all this loot! :)
