I know, my nieces are super cute/funny. That’s definitely what Rebecca exclaimed in frustration while her, Sheri, and Ruth were playing Apples to Apples. We all laughed VERY hard.
The long-awaited Dave Blodgett reunion took place this last weekend, and oh what fun we had! Of course, I did forget to take ANY pictures….but you know me. So I guess I’ll just give you the highlights and you can imagine them however you would like…(plus, most people that read my blog are related to me, so…)
We arrive on Thursday to the Harpers beautiful River house with the most beautiful view. It was so exciting to see all of the brothers and sisters again! It’s been a long time since we were all together and so it was great that everyone made it. Also, funny that Craig, Rebekah, and Brett didn’t even recognize me with my newly dark hair. We played Minute to Win It games that night (courtesy of Paul and Rae) and it was pretty funny watching most of the games but especially watching my dad unrolling two rolls of toilet paper off of a broomstick.
Friday, I wake up at 6:55 to prepare bagels for all the golfers in the family—it really took me back to my blue sky days of cutting bagel orders of 30+ bagels. Shout out to Stacie for supplying the bagels; thank you for feeding my family! Funny comments by the kids begins now: so Judy Gail woke up and was talking to me, RaeAnn and Jenna as Jenna is crawling around. All of a sudden, JG says, “I hope you’re ticklish!” and begins to tickle Jenna on her arms. so cute! Once the boys got back from golfing, we started taking runs on the boats and jet skis (Brett was the master of the Jet skis—he rode one pretty much all day and took out all the nieces and nephews that wanted to go). I can honestly say I impressed my brothers with my wakeboarding skillz (yes, with a Z because that makes it more serious, and more gangster), because I even impressed myself!! :) I can cross the wake on my heel edge and come back in! I know, I am pretty a-w-e-s-o-m-e. haha. Then my brothers all tried out surfing…Craig lost the board under the boat. It was hilarious. We also had a baby shower for Rebekah and we got her a cake (actually, Craig picked it up so not much of a surprise) and when we gave Judy Gail a piece, she ate off all the frosting and said, “Can I have more cake? Except I don’t like this bread part (pointing to the chocolate insides of the frosting).”
That night we had the long-awaited talent show—the Dan Blodgett’s brought us some well-performed Primary Songs; the Ben Blodgett’s sang Heart of Gold by Neil Young, with Ben on guitar AND harmonica; the Craig Blodgett’s will have a talented baby boy (named Cy probably); the Arnesen’s brought us a little Rihanna and Shy Ronnie (see SNL for details); and the Harper’s made a music video for Lady Antebellum (which you can view on Ashley’s blog). The siblings stayed up late that night reminiscing about Montana days, which was very fun and entertaining.
On Saturday we took some great family pictures, which I actually CAN share with you…here are some of my faves:
I feel like this post is getting very long, so I will now start to shorten a little….so, that day contained more boating and jet skiing and that night I played some Skip-Bo with the sibs while Sheri, Rebecca, and Ruth (who had become quit the trio at this point, which I’m going to blame on RaeAnn since she played Truth or Dare with them, which we all know is a bonding experience) played Apples to Apples, which led to them asking one of us to choose what was more funny (Robert Downey, Jr. or Wimbledon), talented (Michael Jackson or a dentist), or naive (mostly they just wanted to know what that word meant…haha).
On Sunday, Dad gave us a really great devotional before we all had to say our goodbyes. It was a very fun and entertaining weekend (I’m sad I can’t think of more of the hilarious things the kids said). Thanks to Ashley and Nolan for all their planning!! They did an awesome job.

That's awesome. When you guys said Blodgetto family reunion I definitely thought you meant ALL of the Blodgetts. And when Rae told me Ashley was planning it all I was fully impressed. But this sounds impressive too. Email a cousin Brett's email : k_tippetts@yahoo.com
I liked your 'long' post by the way. out.
Also, RAEANN invite ME. (I mean if you want). Also, randomly don't you think it's neat how Dolphins always look like they're smiling and having a good time. I want to be a dolphin.
so fun! I love family! ps you are looking REAL good Kimberly!
Um, yes I am a little jealous you are first to post the family pictures:-) We had a lot of fun with you, and I like the new blog look. Miss you already, hope you are getting psyched for school to start!
Yes, the blog looks great, and I really like this song playing. The girls also asked "which is chunkier? a beer belly, or the supreme court?" So much fun! You forgot your violin solo!!
So fun, I wish I was there! I am missing all of you guys now. Fam photos look great! Your dad must be so proud, look at his gorgeous fam! We need a Don and Pud reunion, seriously!
WOW, WOW, WOW!!! LOVED the family pictures. Love the colors too. Great planning. Sometimes you just wish you could be invisible and have transportation skills so that you could bust in on a party and no one would know you were there but you could have fun with the people you LOVE so much. LOVED the post.
The blog does look cool and I loved reliving the reunion. You did a great job recapping and there were so many cute moments. I love JG and the frosting. It was all so much fun!
Hey! I'm so glad that bagels went over so well! Who knew they could be such a hit?!
