Story of the week

okay, I’m not gonna lie…this one actually happened LAST weekend, but I’ll also give an update from this week too.  So last Friday Amy, Melissa, and I had a girl’s night. We make waffles and buttermilk honey syrup. We then put ice cream on the waffle, and then syrup on that…YUM! Then we watched Twilight!! (cuz Melissa hasn’t seen it)  It was super fun to just have a pj’s night with them, it felt like we were in high school again! haha.

This week I was pretty busy with tests. I had to take my first Book of Mormon test and my first Physical Science test, and I took 2 tests in Psychology and a group test in that class and I had to study for a Physics tests that starts this week! I know, pretty busy, huh? Plus, Melissa’s parents came into town and they brought Melissa a car! We are so excited to go to Borders’s :) haha. But we took a trip to Salt Lake City with her parents yesterday, and we were pretty much there the whole day, so I got nothing done. Then, when we got home, I made Melissa watch Cat in the Hat with me, because I quoted it like 5 times on Saturday. Oh, and I wrote a paper for my English class that my teacher wrote “see me” on, and I was so scared! Then I went to a meeting with her and she told me my paper was really good and with some fine tuning, she thought it could go in the school newspaper! Pretty crazy! and I found out I got a 90 on my physical science test, so I was happy. I got my first missionary letter since I got here (Chandler) and so today me and Melissa are gonna take some pictures to send to him.

Well, I think that that’s about everything that happened this week. Oh, but I can’t remember, did I tell you guys about Ben? If not, then I have 2 more stories!! haha.

Vampire Diaries

vampire diaries

Okay, okay, I know what you’re thinking. vampire diaries, kimberly? honestly? do you not already have enough vampire things to obsess over?  Well, up until a week ago, I would’ve agreed with you. I heard at the beginning of the summer that the CW was coming out with a new series called “Vampire Diaries” that was based on the book series and, I’ll admit, I was kind of annoyed and committed to not watching the show. Even though I’m a dedicated, and knowledgeable, Twilight fan, it really bugs me that it’s so popular. And it really bugs me that everything nowadays has to do with Twilight or vampires. Anyway, so I was really not going to watch this show so I could avoid yet another vampire thing that’s coming out right now.  But, I was sitting in my room, feeling the desire to procrastinate, and none of the new episodes for my shows (One Tree Hill or 90210) were up on the internet, but there was an episode of VD, so I gave in. and I LOVED IT!! Seriously, it’s so good. I’ve only seen 2 episodes and I’m hooked. It’s like Harper’s Island meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Twilight. It’s so good. It always starts the episode with something a little scary (you’ve been warned) but it has a really cute love story, a vampire struggling to be good, and a bad brother acting as the antagonist. I really like it and I’d recommend it. At least to my sisters, who I easily get addicted to new shows!! :) Well, there is my story of the week post for this week because nothing else too exciting happened this last week that I can think of…I hope you enjoyed!

Story of the Week #1

I GOT ATTACKED BY A BAT…no really, I did.

Here’s what happened. Melissa was the coolest roommie ever and agreed to go on a trip to Border’s with me to get a book that I’ve been waiting for that came out Sept. 1st (of course, they STILL didn’t have it in, so it was a complete waste of 2 hours of my life. We left our apartment at 3:45 and didn’t get home til 5:40). So after the failed Border’s attempt, we went to B&BW to get a wallflower thing with Melissa’s gift card to make our apartment smell nice. We still had half an hour before the next bus came, so we went to go sit on some benches in the shade. We went to this “alley” (not a scary one. It had like archways and vines and what-not…it was a kind of “cove…”) and we were walking through it to a bench that was in the alley and a bat swooped down on us and flew so close to my head. I had to seriously get down on all 4’s to avoid it. Melissa said: That was a BAT!! I said: No, that was just a bird with a big wingspan. Melissa: No, it was a bat. I’m telling you. When it attacked you I got a good look. Me: No way! Bat’s live in caves and they like the dark. It wouldn’t be out here in the open! Melissa: Whatever.

So, we went and sat down and I was looking up in the vines and then I saw it, hanging upside down! Me: Holy Crud!! That’s a bat! Melissa (calmly): I told you.

So, I start freaking out. I mean, I just got attacked by a bat! What if it had bitten me? Would I have become a vampire? Then Melissa went to take a picture with her phone (she was really upset she didn’t have her camera) and she was like: If it bites me, will you slay me before I become a vampire? Me: What if you’re like a Twilight vampire? Then I don’t have the powers needed to kill you. I’d have to get a werewolf. Melissa: Well then can we team together? Me: As long as you drink animal blood and not human blood. Melissa: Sounds good.

So, she got her picture and we hung out in the cave for a bit until some little girls came over with there Bajio’s. We decided to leave, but now that I think back on it, we really should’ve warned them. What if the bat was Mexican?

Bat

*Can you see him? He’s the black thing. He looks small when he’s all curled up but his wing span was HUGE!!*

Anyway, that’s my exciting story from the week. Also, some stuff you might be interested in:

-I got my first calling as FHE Group Leader (I’m the Mom).

-I’m sorry if I don’t call people enough. I just know you’re busy with work and the only time I have to call people is in between classes when you’re at work!

-A creepy RM gave me and Aimee his number after talking to us for like 5 minutes (and making sure we didn’t have boyfriends on missions…)

Okay, I think that’s it… I was feeling like there was more but…whatever.
