Arizona!

Well, I thought it was about time I post about my AZ trip....
I had to leave for the airport at 5:30 AM on Friday with Pablo, and of course he wouldn't let me go to bed early the night before, so I got to Mesa with about 4 hours of sleep under my belt. Aunt Mae, Grandma, Brooke, and Emily came and picked me up from the airport and took me to Mesa. We all went to In-and-Out (I'd been craving it!) and Wal-Mart.

They then dropped me off at Melissa's house, where I found out I got into BYU!! (You've already seen that picture, see last post! haha). Melissa and I went to the book store and then made some cookies. Then all of the girls came over (Amy, Kelsey, and Erin *Madisen was still on a plane to AZ*) and we went to this Mexican restaraunt my MCC called Top Shelf. I don't know if you've heard of it, but it was awesome! I was strangley craving Mexican food (strange? because I really don't even like Mexican food...) and Melissa was telling me all of the different ones she likes in Mesa (she is basically Mexican, it's hilarious). I picked Top Shelf cuz it kind of sounds like Top Chef! am I right or am I right?? haha. Anyway, we went there and then just hung out with all of us girls. We took pictures, but none of them were that great, cuz we were hyper (what was in that sauce?? haha) and there all on Amy's camera, sorry!

I spent the night at Amy's and then on Saturday I went out to lunch with my Whole Grain girlfriends Jenny and Aubrey. We went to this place called Sweet Cakes, SO GOOD!! It's this little sandwich and soup shop in downtown Mesa. We'd gone there the week before I moved too, so it's kind of tradition. Then we went to the music shop across the street, Milanos, just to look around.

I also went to dinner at Ned's Crazy Subs that night with Melissa and Kelsey (are we beginning to see a pattern??) That night we played 007 with a ton of people; Amy, Melissa, Kelsey, Madisen, Sterling, DJ, Brenton, Diane, Chandler, Sharla, Hunter (not Smith), Justin, Eric, James, etc. Now, we weren't playing the video game, 007 is this game we always use to play in Amy's neighborhood where someone (usually Chandler or Brenton) drive their trucks through the neighborhood with someone spotlighting while the rest of us try to make it from the church to Amy's house. If you get spotlighted then you have to get into the bed of the truck and you're out! Well, I got seriously injured in the 2nd round of the game. We started running and I totally tripped and scraped/bruised both of my knees (no rips in the jeans, thank goodness), and my phone is definitely worse for the wear :(

Sunday was Chandler's farewell. We went to church at 1:30 for his talk, it was awesome. It was on repentance. The coolest thing was that while he was talking I realized that, even though I'd kept thinking it was way weird that Chandler was old enough to be going on a mission, he really did look like a missionary. I turned to tell Amy that and she turned at the same time to tell me the exact same thing! haha. I stayed for the whole block of church because it was my old ward, and it was really cool to get to talk/see everyone. We went to Chandler's house that night to hang out with him and it was really fun, but sad because I had to say goodbye to all of my friends that were leaving on their missions in the next couple months.

On Monday, I went walking with Melissa, Amy, and Kelsey on the canal and then they all took me to the airport, but sadly I missed my 11:00 o'clock flight!! So, I had to change to a 9:00 flight that night. I hung out with Kelsey pretty much all day. We went down to Tempe Marketplace (a really big outdoor mall) and looked around. And then we made spaghetti for dinner for her family. I got to the airport and had to sit in the terminal for an hour (isn't that just life??) and then got home at 11, when Ashley picked me up from the airport. She then let me sleep through my first class the next day before school, she's not the best parental supervision for me is she? haha, just kidding. Anyway, it was a way fun trip and it made me pumped for college cuz I get to be with Amy and Melissa again!

Now you know why whenever Nolan is gone and we talk on the phone I ask what and where he ate. It is part of the fun of going out of town. Glad I could be a bad parental example in this story! But hey I stayed up late to get you. Does that count for anything?
