This Week I’ve been…

…missing my sisters. A lot.

…looking for a ride home over Valentine’s Day weekend (yeah for Allison Swenson!!)

…doing a lot of writing

…reading a very sad, but good, book

…cleaning the kitchen every night—how in the world does it keep getting so dirty!?

…trying to get as much use out of Ashley’s Netflix account as humanly possible (Calamity Jane, Liar Liar, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Ghost, Dirty Dancing, Happy Gilmore, 30 Rock)

…avoiding studying for my 4 tests that all open on Monday

…having some very weird dreams (Melissa and I going to Disney World, finding slideshows playing of RaeAnn, Ashley, and I in a restaurant, meeting everyone I know at BYU at a truck stop on the way home to Boise, slapping a certain person who shall remain unnamed, meeting the guy who plays Sirius Black)

…needing to take some pictures (we haven’t taken any this semester)

…calling the Plasma center pretty much every day (still no appointment, but hopefully next Tuesday!)

and, finally, I’ve been…

…doing nothing risky (sorry Ash)

Breakfast at HP’s

I had a date with Harry Potter!! Okay, his real name is Scott, but still. I had a date with a Harry Potter look-a-like. How many people can say that?  What does one do on a date with Harry Potter, you may ask. Well, I will tell you. 

We went over to Scott’s apartment (which is, literally, right across the street from mine) and we made omelets, bacon, and waffles which we put ice cream and strawberries on top of (“to make it more special than just breakfast” said Scott).  We ate our yummy breakfast for dinner, which took up like 2 hours of time, and then we sat on the couch and played these word games that he’d researched on the internet (bless his heart, he’s such a sweetie).  After we got bored with that, we just talked about ourselves and stuff. It was a very relaxed date. And we ended up just talking for like 4 hours! The whole night, I could see my roommate Jamison and her friend Chase in our kitchen. They were like waving to me and stuff. So then, around 11, they came over and asked if Scott and I wanted to go play in the snow (it had been a BLIZZARD outside while we were eating and people were have an illegal snowball fight now that the snow had stopped). We agreed to go outside, though we were both against participating in the snowball fight (he because it was against the law, I because it was cold and wet white stuff I didn’t want in my hair).  Right when we got outside, though, one of the RA’s came out and warned us to stop and then the Provo Police came, but the fighting was done by then, so no one got in trouble.

Anyway, it was a very fun night. Pretty much the highlight of my week. Definitely the only exciting thing I did.

Also, I finished some really good books this week! I finished Wuthering Heights on Monday, which was a very enjoyable book, though all of the characters were horribly selfish people. Good story though. And on Friday I finished Shiver. LOVED IT!! But it made me miss Andrew a lot because they guy in it is a lot like him.  Now I’m reading Dear John, and it’s pretty good so far. Amy finished it over Christmas break so we are both anticipating the movie release in February.

Oh…hello.

Hmm…what did I do this week? Really…nothing too exciting. We had FHE at our apartment this week and it was my last time being the" “mom".” :(  I got released on Wednesday. Good news is that my new roommate, Jamison, got called as the mom about 5 seconds after I got released, so I am thinking I will still have some input.  On Friday we made Chex Mix and Melissa and I went to Wal-Mart and found this homemade Reese’s kit thing and so we made those, watched 30 Rock, ate those, watched Sabrina (Audrey Hepburn movie) and then went to bed.  On Saturday I just did homework all day (though I didn’t get a lot done) and then I watched 10 Things I hate About You. Then Melissa and I watched Ghost, because I was thinking of Patrick Swayze.  I guess it’s been a movie filled weekend because Madisen and Amy are gonna spend the night tonight (no school tomorrow) and we’re gonna watch Confessions of a Shopaholic and have a waffle party! ha ha.

Sorry…this was a boring post…but I guess I lead a boring life. Except, here’s a teaser to make you excited for next weeks post: I have a date planned with Scott (aka harry potter) next weekend! Yeah!! I’m excited…

I’m back!

Sorry for the blogging hiatus…things were just busy over the break. Plus I was waiting to do a post about Christmas til after I got a picture from RaeAnn ( RaeAnn:“You look like a real Christmas girl” Paul: “Don’t I look like a Christmas boy?”), which I forgot to ever ask her for….so here we are :) Anyway, Christmas break was awesome.

First week: Ashley and Nolan came to Boise for a little over a day, so we got to play with them a little bit. Mostly I spent the week holding Jenna and cooking…both favorite pass times. Christmas Eve and Day were super fun. We went to The Cheesecake Factory (Dad, RaeAnn, Paul, Jenna, and I), which is always way yummy!! Then we went to RaeAnn and Paul’s for the traditional Christmas story reading and PJ present giving :) Then we watched Scrooged (Never heard of it? Most people probably haven’t). If you want to see my absolute favorite part, here’s a short clip:

Christmas day we got up early (9) to open up presents. I was even more spoiled than normal this year!! Ha ha. I got a crock pot, 7 books, a stuffed dog (name: to be decided), boots, some winter clothes, new jeans (sort of…it’s a long story), a cook book, and some unmentionables…. :)

Second Week: Went to the bookstore with Shelby, a coworker from Blue Sky (where I spent my gift card from Kelsey and added two more books to the Christmas count), went to breakfast with some girlfriends from high school, Tori and Elly, went to New Moon and Panda Express with Shelby and Stacie, played a lot of Super Mario with Ashley on the wii, rang in the New Year with a rousing game of Hoopla, played Buzz Word with my Aunt Mae, Dad, Ashley, Nolan, and Grandma Heaps, and went to J. Bear’s baby blessing—which was awesome, amazing…precious…hahaha just kidding Razzor. I also had a lot of fun playing with Gracie (we put make up on in Grandpa’s bathroom) and Thomas (tickling, tickling, and more tickling). I sure love all my nieces and nephews- I wish I could’ve seen then all over the break, but it was such a blessing to be with family for two weeks. When I got back to BYU on Sunday I definitely felt homesick and sad that it’ll be at least 3 months before I see most of my family again. One lesson that was reaffirmed over the holidays? Families are the best.
