People I'm Missin'

Well, I'm just over halfway through the semester and I am starting to really miss some people...
Definitely missing the Jet...say what you will about our separate tv-watching, but there's nothing quite like having him sitting in the office whenever I head towards my room to smile at
The Sisters...we got to hang out a lot over the summer, but whenever my sisters and I aren't together, I am wishing that we were
The J-Bear...I am so scared she's gonna forget her MiMi!! Plus, I got really sore after our little visit two weeks ago, so I definitely need to be with her so I can keep my muscles toned :)
The Shleb! (and Stacie, though I sadly don't have a single picture with her...). My BS friends are so great and I totally miss discussing young adult books with them because NO ONE ELSE will discuss it with me without mocking my taste!!
The Harpers (and really all my nieces and nephews)...why do these kids keep growing up while I'm not there!? They're all completely different little humans every time I get to see them. And I often think about cute things they do and laugh to myself and people probably think I'm crazy. Like today in class, someone repeated a word twice, and I thought about how Thomas whispers words back to himself and just laughed!!The Pablo Diablo...nothing quite like "Can Jenna and I come over?" and then later "I didn't mean for you to babysit her while I watched sports..." sure....haha just kidding. The Prego-Brookie! I love, love, LOVE having my Emily here, now I just need my Brookie to get up here so the trio is complete!!The Andrew..so excited for January! Also, excited to take some new pictures, since this is the only one I have of the two of us...I've basically already said this, but I miss my family!!! At least I get to go see Danny and Company this weekend because we finally don't have a football game!! YEAH!

Conference, College, Craziness

"I have a knack for alliteration. I'm a slave to it." -Sean, Psych

This weekend was jam-packed with SOCIAL-NESS...please be proud of me.
First off, on Thursday I was literally dragged from my apartment to go to the ward bonfire, which was more entertaining than originally anticipated.
Then on Friday I worked basically all day for the football game until I got to go to Jenny's birthday party!! It was way fun, though I took no pictures to prove it.
On Saturday, I made monkey bread while watching Mansfield Park with my roommates and then we watched conference! Then I went to Samily's for the afternoon session, some Rugby-watching, dinner at Zupa's (sorry RaeAnn), and then we met up with my cousin Zack, who was down from BYU-I. So fun to see him; we watched What Lies Beneath to kick of October-Scary-Movie-Month.
On Sunday, we (aka Brianna) made crepes to eat for the morning session of conference. Then I went to Samily's to play a rousing, yet totally depressing, game of Monopoly. Then it was ROAST DINNER!! That's right, Kimberly's roasts are back, and I've learned from my dad over the summer (though it was still no where NEAR Dad's high quality roasts). And then we attempted to watch Watcher in the Woods for our second movie, but instead told ghost stories, and can I just say it's been a LONG time since I told ghost stories; I couldn't remember them anymore!
And then this week I've taken 2 tests, 2 quizzes, and then I have one more test on Friday in addition to working a lot of events (and breaking my first goblet :( ) but don't worry, I definitely made time for a 5 hour game of Axis and Allies and to post (because I've been lacking as Andrew pointed out (hey I mentioned you in a post:) )).
Oh, and I got a BOMB package from RaeAnn/Jenna...THANK YOU!! I got so excited and love all of my new prizes!! I feel so special!!(PS The Frankenstein is a wall flower and, let's just say, I'm totally craving oatmeal cookies now!)
And now I'm going to go watch Ringer, not because it's great, but because I love Sarah Michelle-Gellar!

Getting down to BIDNESS

"What about the "bidness" side? Cause I'm more of a "bidness" man. Who's covering that?" -Sawn, Psych

I'm in charge of that! That's right, I'm back at school and there's a lot of bidness being taken care of...partying, work, school, and tv-watching... You want some more specifics? I will give them to you.
1. NEW ROOMIES
So this year, it's me, Lauren, and BriannaX2 living in Park Plaza. I LOVE my apartment and my roommates! ...we wear cute shoes :)2. GLENDALE FRIENDS!!
I haven't taken any pictures cuz I am lame...but I love having the Gendale friends close together! Our parties usually center around Samily's house and we've got Kendan, Jenny, Chelsea, Alexa, Liz and Brandt...it's been great! Lots of fun dinners together and some very entertaining shopping with Jenny (which is where I got the above BEAUTIFUL shoes)
3. PSYCH and HEROES
Well...I finished Psych, which was a pretty funny show; I'd recommend it for some easy entertainmentAnd I just started heroes, so I haven't yet completely decided my thoughts on it, but I do love this guy (below) and fantasy kind of stuff, so I am thinking I will not be dissapointed
4. CLASSES
  • ENGLISH USAGE (linguistics)..................LOVE
  • TRANSATLANTIC LITERATURE............LOVE (though it is a 6 credit class, so it's kind of kicking my booty)
  • NEW TESTAMENT....................................LOVE
  • SPANISH....................................................WELL...not really love, but that's okay
5. BYU CATERING
And I've returned to my catering position...I've only worked at the football games so far, but it is nicer than I thought to be back because now I actually know what I'm doing and what to expect. It's nice to have people come and ask lil' old me for advice and instruction on what they're supposed to do. It's also nice to get recognized a lot by the event coordinators for my work.

So...even though I miss my family and my Boise, I am enjoying all that Provo has to offer this semester, and hopefully it will only get better :)
